2011: 2nd (Lost in Preliminary Final)

The Ballycastle Bats were, without a Lethifold of doubt, the shock success story of 2011. For a team with such a rich history in the League Cup, success had been scant in the last decade. But despite not being fancied to even make the finals in 2011, the Bats found themselves on top of the table at the half-way point of the season, before eventually finishing an ultra-impressive 2nd. Their lack of finals nuance caught up with them in the Preliminary Final epic against the Magpies, but the final disappointment did not detract from the feeling of overall triumph in the Bats camp.

This year Ballycastle have retained their largely unspectacular (Seeker Shettigar, the ultimate entertainer, excepted of course) but solid squad. It would be unwise to expect them to match last season's heights, but realistically the Bats should make the finals and put up a reasonable attack on June.
