All things considered, the Wasps must surely enter the new season as championship favourites. This is a golden age for Wimbourne Quidditch, with a star-studded team led by England captain Apollo Brookstanton. Not since the era of Ludo Bagman have the Wasps looked so likely to win League Cups. The 2010 champions were a short-priced favourite to make it back-to-back titles last year. Everything looked on track when they finished top of the regular season table and emphatically won through to Week 3 of the finals. But then of course, came the match that will live on forever in the memory of all Quidditch lovers, resulting in the Tutshill Tornados vanquishing the Wasps on their way to the League Cup.

The Wasps squad is if anything, stronger again this year, with the experienced senior group added to by 19 year old Seeker prodigy Venus Vogler. No team can be more assuredly predicted to still be fighting come finals time in June than the Wasps.
