PRIDE OF PORTREE
Founded: 1292 League Cups: 22 Last League Cup: 1988
2011: 10th
A number of teams, like the Catapults and Kestrels for instance, speak of their club’s youth policy and how future League Cups are brewing in the current crop of kids. It could be said that the Prides likewise have concentrated on promising youth to ensure a stable future. But this wouldn’t be entirely true. The fact of the matter is, one can’t help but feel that this squad is a haphazard bits and pieces collection. There is no experience, Maisie Mordaunt aside of course, but on the other side of the spectrum, nor is there a great dearth of hyped talent.

They are still a threat though. Terrence
Stroulger may be the youngest captain in the League, but for a reason. He is
ultra-impressive and will push for debut England selection later this year. Most of the Prides are known quantities, but last
year it was their unknown quantities who showed the odd strokes of genius. If
the uncapped Musidora McBride and Mordred Van Hoorn prove as skilled as the
rumour mill suggests they are, the Prides may just spring a surprise or two this year.
They are unlikely to amount to much more though.
